I was flipping through my old journal when I came upon this gem...

"Be excellent to each other." - Bill and Ted
Laughter solves everything.
Just accept it.
Go with the flow.
"A smile is always in style."
Just some quotes to remind me of who I am in case I forget.
Also, there is so much of the world to see. If I am to see all of it, I must make it my goal.
I must work hard towards that goal.
That was five years ago. I was but a wee sophomore!
When I saw these notes, I smiled. My first reaction was one of disbelief.
I was a bit naive, no?
On further reflection, I saw that there was wisdom in my innocence. Life and experiences can make you cynical, but that world-weariness is but another lenses from which we view the world.
So are we ever wiser than we were before?
In some ways. When searching for answers though, I believe, sometimes, the answer might come, not in the future as you might expect, but from the past.
For the sake of comparison, here are a few aphorisms I jotted down from this past year.
Love the process.
Don't let others dictate your self worth.
Dream and daydream.
Buy experiences, not things.
Make decisions for later, not for now.
Confidence is how you present yourself.
Hmmm... sounds like I'm a practical person these days.
P.S. Also, great to see my desire to travel and live abroad was strong even back then. After all, at that point, life after education was but an abstract concept.
P.P.S. The title... I think I might have paraphrased the Doctor. Nerd points?
